Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center would like to thank all of you who are adhering to the strict quarantine protocols in place. As you know, those steps are key to our community’s health and your commitment is truly appreciated.
Until further tests are received, we are continuing our approach to testing only healthcare workers and hospitalized patients with severe symptoms. We continue our determined pursuit of additional tests for broader screening and our COVID CLINIC is in place to triage highly symptomatic residents (again, please call 719-738-4569 first rather than simply showing up at the COVID CLINIC).
We have been pursuing opportunities both financial and through State and National Resources to make sure we have the equipment needed. Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center have ordered additional ventilators and will notify the public when those are received.
Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center has been in constant communication with the CDC, other healthcare systems and government agencies to ensure best practices are in place in our facilities. Our efforts continue to expand as masks are mandatory throughout our Veterans Community Living Center, Hospital Swing Bed Unit and elsewhere. Additionally, we have relocated many administrative departments to our Outreach Clinic in downtown Walsenburg, to provide enhanced social distancing.
Our committed staff continues to selflessly work day and night and we have never been prouder of them. Your many thankful comments on Facebook and elsewhere are appreciated beyond what you may ever know.
Last week, we sent a direct mail piece to all residents of Huerfano County and we will continue to utilize digital mediums to provide updates. Additionally, you can find routine updates from Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center in the World Journal, Greenhorn Valley News, on KSPK (FM 102.3) and other media.
Thank you again, Huerfano County for your outpouring of support and the strength and determination you all are demonstrating. You make us proud every single day!
